Bubba Wallace Parents: According to Yahoo Sports, Bubba said, “It’s a sensitive topic.” “But I’m just so sad about where my family has been for the last two years, and I don’t talk about it, but it’s just been so tough, and getting them here to support me is… I just try so hard to succeed with everything I do, and my family motivates me every day; they may not realise it, but I just want to make them proud. But, indeed, I adore my family and am grateful to have everyone here, including my mother, sister, and uncle. Every single person here means a great deal.”
Bubba’s father, Darrell Sr., is white, and his mother, Desiree, is black. Bubba’s parents split when he was young, but he still keeps in touch with both of them. He was the first African-American driver to take NASCAR full-time riding since 1971, making history in 2018.
Desiree thinks her son is the right person to contribute to sports development. “Bub has a strong basis,” Desiree told Blavity.com. “He will work hard, remain focused, and prove himself further. This will hopefully inspire other minorities interested in NASCAR.”
