Dogs On Deployment Reviews: Military members across the country face a multitude of problems during their careers, the last thing they need to worry about is the care of their pets during their service obligations. Dogs On Deployment is a 501(c)(3) national non-profit that provides service members with an online network to search for volunteers who are able to board their pets during the service obligations of their owner.
Through fighting for the rights of military pet owners, offering educational services, and awarding financial assistance to military pet owners during emergencies, Dogs on Deployment encourages responsible, life-long pet ownership by military pet owners.
Dogs on Deployment was founded by Shawn and Alisa Johnson, husband and wife, who serve in the US Navy and US Marine Corps, respectively. In June 2011, they released Dogs on Deployment. The creators were in circumstances where they wanted a program like Dogs on Deployment, as a dual-military family. Alisa was given orders to travel to Quantico, Virginia, where she was scheduled to undergo military training for six months.
Shawn was expected to be deployed at the same time. Neither of them will look after their beloved puppy, JD. They were fortunate enough to have a family to depend on, but they understood the need for a program that would support those who were in a similar circumstance.
